Rice PR partners with Nazcal to champion functional drinks, enhancing creativity and connection
NEWS: Bristol-based communications agency Rice PR has announced a new Joint Venture with Nazcal – the alcohol-free, functional mushroom drink brand born and brewed in Bristol – to bring the brand to national and international audiences.
The partnership marks the beginning of an ambitious collaboration designed not only to elevate Nazcal’s profile but also to launch a new Rice PR event series exploring how the sober-curious movement and functional mushrooms can support creativity, connection, and community wellbeing.
Both brands share a strong purpose-driven ethos, with a commitment to enhancing mental and physical health, supporting sustainable living, and nurturing social cohesion.
Founded by Bristol-based JJ Gorman, owner of the Full Moon and Attic Bar, and Will Cleverly, creative director and wellbeing practitioner, Nazcal was born out of a shared belief that social experiences shouldn’t depend on alcohol.
Instead, Nazcal harnesses the natural benefits of adaptogenic mushrooms and functional botanicals to create drinks that enhance focus, mood, and connection – without the hangover.
“Nazcal is more than a drink - it’s a mindset shift,” said Sarah Rice, director of Rice PR.
“We’ve been following JJ and Will’s journey since the early days and were inspired by their authenticity and courage to build something that reflects where culture is heading.
“This is focused on a more conscious connection, creativity, and care for ourselves and our planet. This partnership feels like a natural evolution for both our brands.”
JJ said: “Partnering with Rice PR gives us the storytelling power to take Nazcal beyond Bristol - to share our message of mindful socialising with the world,”
“We’ve always wanted Nazcal to be about more than what’s in the bottle - it’s about the feeling of being part of something energising, inclusive, and alive.”
Will added: “We’re building a movement that’s rooted in creativity, community, and sustainability. Working with Rice PR, we’re excited to connect with people and brands that share those values – and to redefine what a good night out can look like.”
The first event in the series will take place at The Attic Bar at the bottom of Bristol’s cultural centre of Stokes Croft on November 26th with founder of Bristol Fungarium Tom Baker delivering the keynote talk.
This event will launch the 2026 programme, bringing together artists, entrepreneurs, wellness practitioners, and change-makers to explore how functional drinks, creativity, and community can help shape a more conscious culture
